Orthodox Book Club The Orthodox Book Club will be meeting once a month, on the third Thursday, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. Our focus for the first year will be the lives and teaching of the Saints, especially the Saints of our own times. Our meetings on September 18 and October 16 will feature a discussion of a biography on St. John Maximovich. The meetings on November 20 and December 18 will concentrate on Wounded by Love a biography of the Elder Porphyrios and excerpts from his writings. Prior to the Book Club, beginning at 6:30 pm, we will be celebrating the Paraklesis (Supplication) Service to St. Nektarios of Pentapolis. We pray to St. Nektarios especially for those afflicted with cancer. All are invited to join us to pray for our loved ones and parish family members. |
