Building Fund Committee
Peter Davis and Ted Mountzuris are the overseers of
the Building Fund, which was established in 2001. Initially, the purpose of the fund was to
finance the building of our new Narthex, Pastor's office, and
classrooms. The major source of income
for the fund is the Greek Festival.
Contributions from parishioners and the Greater Newburyport Community
supplement the resources of the Fund.
Stewardship Committee
Under the Chairmanship of John Gogolos, this committee is responsible for the
promotion of our Stewardship Program and our Christian calling to share of
our Time, Talent, and Treasure and support the ministries of The
Annunciation.
Sunday School Educational Committee
This committee along with Father Kerry provides the community with the
education and materials necessary for developing a deeper awareness of our
Orthodox faith on both the practical and theological levels.
Yankee Homecoming Greek Food Festival
This is the name of our Greek Food Festival that is always held during the
Greater Newburyport Yankee Homecoming Week at the end of July and beginning
of August. Volunteers are always needed
in every area of the festival. The
Festival Chairperson, appointed by the Parish Council and assisted by area
coordinators, stages an attractive three-day event on the Church grounds. Voluntary members of the Annunciation Greek
Orthodox Church Community provide the necessary labor. Visitors from all over Newburyport
and surrounding Greek Communities from Boston,
MA to New Hampshire
and parts of Maine
attend this great event and make it the largest fund-raiser of the year for
our parish.
Event Committee
This committee is responsible for planning and overseeing church events
(dances, concerts, fashion shows, art auctions, etc.) of the parish. It is also responsible for creating an
annual budget and presents it to the Parish Council for its final
approval. This does not include the
Yankee Homecoming Greek Food Festival.
Nicholson Hall Committee
This committee oversees all rental opportunities with Nicholson hall.
NOTE: All Parish Council
Members must serve as a chairperson on a Committee and develop the committee
with volunteer parishioners from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church as
part of their Parish Council duties as defined in the Archdiocese Parish
Regulations under Parish Council, Section 6, as
administrative rulings. The Parish
Council President oversees all committees along with Father Kerry.
